UCSI Education offers fee waiver to SPM students

KUCHING: UCSI University Sarawak Campus announced the UCSI Education for all SPM students who would enjoy 20 per cent tuition fee waiver on its diploma programmes.

The programmes include Diploma in Hotel Management, Diploma in Culinary Arts and Diploma in Leisure and Recreation Management with minimum entry requirement of 5 credits on their SPM result.

“The education assist is however limited to first 20 enrolments only,” it said in a statement.

Apart from the new Education Assist Scheme, UCSI University also offers variety of scholarship including the Tan Sri Ahmad Razali Merit Scholarship Award, UCSI University Trust A-Level Scholarship, UCSI University Trust Scholarship and UCSI University Trust Sports Bursary for qualified students.

The university is taking a more holistic approach to needy students and their families to ease the financial burden of parents in providing tertiary education for their children by giving different types of financial assistance.

UCSI University appointed by MyCenTHE as the cluster leader to introduce Work-Based Learning (WBL) approach for its Diploma programme in 2011 as one of the effort in achieving the Entry Point Project 10 (EPP10), with the core concept to train the students to be skilful through experiential learning in the real working environment instead of traditional industrial training at the end of a programme of study.

UCSI University will be recruiting its seventh batch of student for WBL programme this coming intake.

Besides offering the diploma programmes, the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (FHTM) offers three degree programmes namely BA (Hons) in Commerce, Hospitality Management and Event & Tourism Management. Students who are interested in enrolling into the UCSI University Engineering, Medicine & Health Science, Pharmacy, Architecture, Social Sciences and Applied Sciences programmes are given an option to study their Pre-U in the Sarawak Campus under the Centre for Pre-U Studies (CPU) for their Foundation Studies (Art and Science) and GCE A-Levels.
