PBB goes into polls preparation mode

KUCHING: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) has set up its election preparation committee headed by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Alfred Jabu to face the coming general election.

Its senior vice-president Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hassan in disclosing this here yesterday said the committee would prepare a report pertaining the party’s preparation for the impending 13th general election.

“We have set up a state-level PBB election preparation committee and at the same time we have also set up such a committee at all the party branch level.

“As far as we (PBB) are concerned we want to be ready and we are all ready,” Awang Tengah, who is Second Minister of Resource Planning and Environment, said at the party’s meeting at its headquarters in Jalan Bako.

Asked whether the meeting also finalised the party’s candidates, Awang Tengah replied: “ No … we did not discuss the issue (party’s candidates) … the meeting was only to fine-tune our preparation, and I’m happy about it (election preparation)”.

The Minister of Public Utilities also said that almost all the election posters were ready.

The meeting started about 2.30pm and ended at 5pm.
