ONE WITH NATURE: Statutes of monks in a garden at the Buddhist Village.

KUCHING: Kuching Buddhist Society and Sarawak Photo-Art Society (SPAS) will be jointly organising a photography contest.

According to a press statement, the contest is open to the public.

The location of the photo shoot must be in the Buddhist Village during the period April 1 to 27. All photos must be submitted by 3pm on May 4 to the Kuching Buddhist Society office at Jalan Laksamana Cheng Ho here.

The subject of the work is unlimited as long as it is taken in Buddhist Village.

Kuching Buddhist Society is located at Tanjong Durian, on the way to Bau Town.

It is a community built by the society to realise the pureland idea.

In order to attract more participants, the society has allocated a total of RM5,000 as cash prizes.

The submission fee is RM30 per set (three photos) for non-SPAS member, and SPAS official member submission fee is RM20 per set (three photos). Another RM5 is charged for every additional set (three photos) of photos submission.

Participants are allowed to send in a many entries as they wish and its softcopy must be saved in CDs with a minimum size of not less than 4MB. However, participants must maintain the originality of the soft copy.

Entry form can be obtained from the Kuching Buddhist Society administration office during office hours (8am to 5pm) or log on to http://village.kbs.org.my to download the form.
