KENINGAU: Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan said the people, especially here, are on the right track in continuing to support the ruling Barisan Nasional (BN) government.

“BN under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak has brought many changes through the transformation programmes for the citizens of the country, including the state,” he said in a speech at a meet-the-people-session here.

Pairin, who is also Minister of Infrastructure Development, said since the Prime Minister took over the governance of the country nearly four years ago, many changes had been made, including in the rural areas.

He said the leadership of the Prime Minister was very much different from previous leaders because he had brought a lot of benefits to the people, not only in socio-economy but assistance that could reduce the burden of the people, especially those with low and moderate income.

“I ask the people here to continue to support BN in the coming general election as the BN’s track record is the best, not only in this country but also in the world,” he said.

At the event, Pairin handed over water tanks to 153 families from Kampung Sandapak and Tangkongan in Bingkor.

He also approved the construction of a kitchen and repair of the village hall.

Also present at the event were Bingkor assemblyman Datuk Justin Guka, and political secretary to the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, Welfredoline Jakil.
