KUCHING: Mordi Bimol, the DAP potential candidate for Mas Gading in the 13th general election, who was rushed to hospital on Thursday, will most likely return to the ground this coming Monday.

Mordi, who had difficulty in breathing, was sent to Bau Hospital by his relative on Thursday morning after he collapsed at his home at Kampung Suba Bandar in Bau here.

“I’m feeling better now. Doctor said I need to rest. I just need to have a good rest and good sleep,” he replied in the text message when asked about his condition yesterday.

The 28-year-old added that the result of the medical check-up indicated that his condition “is normal”.

He explained that he suffered back pain the night before the incident, but he continued with his programme at Kampung Pasir Tengah, Jalan Biawak.

“I had a breathing problem when I woke up in the morning (Thursday). The doctor said the back pain had caused me to jam up and collapse at home,” he said, adding that the doctor believed that his back pain was due to a muscle sprain.

Asked whether he was worried about his condition, Mordi replied: “Of course, I’m worried because the general election is very soon.

“Nevertheless, I will continue with my activities. But, I will try to rearrange my time so that I can have enough time to rest. I think I can continue to be with our members on the ground on Monday.

“Even if I’m not able to be on the ground these few days, our activities and campaigns will continue on. My comrades and members will lead the programmes without me and keep me updated.”
