KOTA KINABALU: The exhibitors at IPEX 2013 and Ideal Home Show Exhibition at Sabah Trade Centre, Likas are showcasing a variety of properties, services and products with discount offers of up to 20 percent.

Goodrich Global (EM) Sdn Bhd, one of the exhibitors at the four-day event which ends tomorrow (March 31), is a supplier for wall-coverings, fabrics, carpet and wood and laminate flooring is looking at Sabah as an important market, especially with the booming property developments throughout the State.

Managing director Eric Tan yesterday said Goodrich Global is answering the call of giving priority to the green building concept by offering synthetic materials which comply with the highest international quality and safety.

“For example, our wallpapers look like wood but it is actually fiber. This means we are not cutting trees but still giving the house owners or commercial properties the opportunities to have wooden and vintage on their interior buildings.

“The trend of having unique wallpapers is increasing in the city, and I hope visitors of IPEX exhibition will grab the opportunity of 20 percent off during this four-day event,” he said yesterday.

Tan added wall-covering is giving more options in a cheaper way, because the installation is much easier compared to changing the whole wall, which will need more time and cost to break and than to rebuild the concrete.

“Wall-covering is simple, but you still have the similar texture from metallic hues, textured or intricately printed vinyl to rich textiles. It can be changed to another material after a few years without breaking the wall,” he added.

Tan also welcomed homeowners to have a first-hand look at their existing and upcoming products.

Dream House Cabinet Sdn Bhd from Kolombong, Inanam is introducing kitchen as an important space not only for cooking or preparing food but also as a centre of activities like gathering and entertaining guests.

“The modern kitchen is being given much attention nowadays. With good planning, the kitchen can also be converted into the most comfortable room in the house, where family and visitors can gather.

“We also give 20 percent discount to any customers who are paying deposit during this exhibition, and introduce them to various products we have. We are giving affordable price to Sabahans because we have our own factory in Kolombong. I hope more visitors will ask us how to convert their normal kitchen into a modern look,” said managing director Jason Poi.

Lita Enterprise, a sole distributor for GCI Eagle Interlocking Clay Roofting Tile, also showcased various products at the event.

Its manager, B.Y. Lee, said with more than 10 years in the State the company had completed a huge number of projects, including installation of roofing system for Magellan Sutera Harbour Resort, Nexus Karambunai and various commercial centres.

“As for housing roof system, we are targeting middle to upper class individuals, as clay roof tiles we offer are a poor conductor of heat, thus providing good insulation, making it an ideal material for the roof.

“Potential is high in Sabah, especially with the current trend of developers giving priority to a green concept in their projects. Clay roof tiles are made from environmental-friendly raw material of high quality clay quarried from Malaysia and fired at 1060 degree celsius,” said Lee.

Apart from interior designers and developers, IPEX 2013 also invited local artistic talents to showcase their portfolios and creative artwork during the event.

Professional make-up artist Jeffie Jeff participated in the event by offering 50 per cent off bridal trial, RM20 eyebrow shaping, cosmetics sales and also bridal demo at the centre stage tonight (March 30).
