LAHAD DATU:  Police are tracking down Datuk Seri Muhammad Ridzwan Sulaiman to assist investigation in connection with Operation Daulat.

Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Hamza Taib urged Muhammad Ridzwan, whose last address was in Georgetown, Penang to surrender at the nearest police station.

Muhammad Ridzwan who is also president of Penang-based Al-Ehsan Welfare Organisation is not involved with terrorists but can assist Operation Daulat.

“Datuk Seri Muhammad Ridzwan is high on the wanted list. Those who know him can contact Rakan Cop or the nearest police station.

“He can assist police in Operation Daulat. We believe that he is now in Kuala Lumpur, Penang and maybe Sabah,” he told a press conference at Operation Daulat headquarters in Felda Sahabat 16, here yesterday.

Meanwhile, Hamza said 101 families from Kampung Tanjung Labian, 25 families from Kampung Tanjung Batu, and 54 from Kampung Sungai Merah have been allowed to return to their village homes.

“The areas have been cleared of presence of the armed intruders and are safe to be occupied. The villagers have started to move to their village in stages starting today (Sunday),” he said.

However, he said the security forces were still conducting mopping up operations in Kampung Sungai Bilis and would continue on to Kampung Lok Buani and Kampung Lok Sembuang.

He added that as soon as the operations ended, the villagers could return to their homes after the National Security Council, the District Office and other agencies have completed their damage assessment.
