SK Bintulu is Bifa adopted school

BINTULU: SK Bintulu has been selected as an adopted school under the football development programme of Bintulu Football Association (Bifa) to identify young talent at an early stage.

Bifa president Duke Janteng said the programme is aimed at finding young talent at the grassroots level.

“Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) has authorised Bifa to find new talents,” he said after delivering 18 set of jerseys and sponsorship dedicated to the SK Bintulu football team yesterday.

According to Duke, the first phase of the programme involves SK Bintulu while one secondary school will be selected in the second phase.

“Each of these early stages of development planning will be monitored by committee members from Bifa Development Division,” he said.

He said they were grateful that SK Bintulu headmistress had voluntarily allow her pupils to be selected under the Bifa development programme.

Meanwhile SK Bintulu headmistress Zemrud Zainudin said as administrators they were grateful that their school was selected by Bifa.

“We’re lucky to have been chosen and this is the most meaningful gift for our school this year,” she said.

The SK Bintulu team will be trained by two coaches from the school namely Jeffery Sani and Daniel Jan. The team will compete in the Primary Schools Sports Council Championship from April 12 to 15.

Earlier, the sponsored jerseys were presented by Duke to Zemrud and witnessed by co-curriculum senior assistant Norjanah Bujang and other Bifa committee members.
