SHAH ALAM: Hanafiah Jamil holds the record as the youngest golfer to turn pro in Malaysia in 2003, when he was just 16 years of age.

His early interest and talent for golf was nurtured by his family who provided him with training, an exercise regime and a nutritious and healthy diet that enhanced his natural strength and ability.

Ten years after Hanafiah turned professional, Ayam Brand – a household name in Malaysia famed for its wide range of nutritious, no-added preservative and no-added MSG canned food products – will sponsor him in his second Maybank Malaysian Open appearance.

The Maybank Malaysian Open is Malaysia’s longest-running and most prestigious golf championship.

During the competition, Hanafiah will share the same stage with some of the biggest names in golf including world number three Luke Donald, former Masters winner Charl Schwartzel, Maybank Malaysian Open 2011 champion Matteo Manassero and three-time Majors champion Padraig Harrington.

“I am honoured and excited to be chosen by Ayam Brand as its sponsored athlete. I appreciate that Ayam Brand products are nutritious with no added MSG or preservatives, and that there are lite and low sodium options as well. Moreover, they are ready to eat straight from the can which is extremely convenient when training stretches for hours,” said Hanafiah.

According to Ayam Brand marketing manager Marie-Magali Falcoz, the brand’s sponsorship of Hanafiah is in line with its commitment to promote healthier lifestyles by working with young people who are involved in sports.

“Everyone should be aware of what they eat and make good dietary choices. Good nutrition is especially important for athletes as it can boost their performance and help their recovery as well. We are proud to sponsor Hanafiah and wish him all the best at the Maybank Malaysian Open 2013,” said Marie-Magali Falcoz .

Ayam Brand’s extensive range of canned fish sardines, mackerel and tuna are a rich source of Omega 3.

Ayam Brand has been sponsoring and supporting young athletes for the past three years, contributing its products as part of their daily diet during training and preparation for competitions.
