KUCHING: Head of state Tun Datuk Patinggi Abang Muhammad Salahuddin’s wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Norkiah launched a programme ‘This Is My Home’ at Sekolah Tunas Bakti Perempuan, Miri last Tuesday.
The programme was launched at the third station after it was launched at Rumah Kanak-kanak, Kuching on March 5 and Rumah Seri Kenangan in Sibu on March 13.
‘This Is My Home’ is a programme to create a ‘sense of belonging’ for all trainees to make them feel belonged and comfortable.
Sekolah Tunas Bakti (P) Miri is a rehabilitation centre under the Malaysia Social Welfare Department.
The course was to guide female students involved in crime to live a more meaningful life after their release.
Among those present were Welfare, Women and Family Development Minister Datuk Fatimah Abdullah, Early Childhood Education and Family Development Assistant Minister Rosey Yunus, Welfare Assistant Minister Robert Lawson Chuat and Lambir assemblyman Ripin Lamat.
