Course participants urged to fully utilise knowledge

SIBU: Participants of the ‘Coconut Jelly and Noodle Products Processing Technology Course’ are urged to fully utilise the knowledge they gained from the two-day course.

Assistant Minister of Rural Development Julaihi Narawi stressed that fully applying their knowledge in running their business activities would enable them to improve their income and living standard.

He was speaking at the closing ceremony of the course held at Sibu civic centre here, yesterday.

The course was organised by the Ministry of Industrial Development in collaboration with the Malaysia Agriculture Research Development Institute (Mardi).

It was attended by some 90 small and medium scale entrepreneurs from around Sibu Division.

Julaihi who is also the Assistant Minister for Industrial Development (Investment and Promotion) added that they could also apply for easy business loans to expand their business capacity.

“They can apply for the loans either from the various relevant government agencies or banks.”

“This shows that the caring Barisan Nasional government is very serious about helping them,” he said.

Julaihi added that the government wanted to see that the people including the small and medium business community were able to enjoy positive business growth and development.

“This is because they play a very important role in contributing towards the state and nation’s economic growth,” he pointed out.

Jemoreng assemblyman Abu Seman Jahwie and Temenggong Datuk Wan Hamid Edruce were also present.
