KUCHING: The Empowered Ministry of St Joseph’s Parish Youth Ministry, in collaboration with Chapel of Mother Mary Parish Youth Ministry and Bread of Life Youths, will be hosting a four-day Easter Rally Experience (ER 2013) starting from June 6.
Themed ‘Rise Up’, it will take place at the Archdiocesan Curia & Pastoral Centre (St Joseph’s Cathedral Kuching) and the Kuching Amphitheatre at Jalan Budaya here.
Into its 10th year this year, the highlights of ER2013 include a Worship Conference and a Catholic Conference for kids, youths, working adults, as well as a Celebration Concert.
In a statement released recently, the ministries are inviting all Christians to come together to celebrate the victorious and triumphant resurrection of Lord Jesus Christ in a big and exuberant way.
“Through this, we hope to build a generation who are excited about God, passionate about Jesus and empowered by the Holy Spirit, so as to minister to many others, and to be fully participative in the life, mission and work of the Church,” the statement said.
There will be an opening mass on June 6 at 7.30pm to be celebrated by Archbishop John Ha and an opening celebration and worship night on June 7 to begin at 7.30pm.
The conferences will be divided into four categories.
The two-day Worship Conference to begin on June 6 will cater for those currently serving or have the desire to serve in the music ministries and would feature Rev Fr John Chia (Diocese of Limbang) and Nishant Fernando (India).
The Kids Conference will be spread over two sessions for two age groups — children aged 9 to 12 on June 6 to 7 from 8am to 12pm while children aged 5 to 8 on June 9 to 10 (8am-12pm).
The four-day Youth Conference which will begin on June 6 provides an exciting avenue for youths (13 years and above) to explore, experience and learn about their Catholic Faith in a more creative, exciting and explosive way.
The Working Adults Conference from June 8 to 9 will allow adults a time to recharge, renew, reach up and rise up while learning about their Catholic faith.
In addition, there will also be a 10th anniversary celebration concert on June 8 to begin at 7.30pm featuring the Empowered Creative Arts Ministries and friends.
Those interested to join the conferences are required to register and pay a fee — youths, working adults and worship conferences: RM60 (March 1 to April 15), RM80 (April 16 to May 15) and RM100 (May 15 onwards) while for the kids conference: RM20 (March 1 to May 15) and RM50 (May 15 onwards).

Empowered Ministry is based at St Joseph’s Cathedral Parish Kuching comprising a group of youths from upper primary and secondary schools, colleges and universities as well as working adults.
