SIBU: Selangau incumbent Datuk Joseph Entulu believes voters in Selangau still favour the BN as they needed more development.

“They need more infrastructural development such as roads and basic amenities, he told thesundaypost yesterday.

On news that PKR would be fielding Joshua Jabeng in Selangau in the 13th general election, Entulu said he hoped Joshua would put up a “good and gentlemanly fight”.

He added that he had long anticipated that Selangau would see at least a three-cornered fight.

The other party in the fray is Sarawak Workers Party (SWP), which is expected to field its advisor Datuk Sng Chee Hua there.

Entulu, who is Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development, said he viewed PKR as a more credible outfit than SWP.

“In addition, Joshua is a local, but not Sng.”

SWP had maintained since day one of its formation a year ago that it was BN-friendly but the party had vowed to fight PRS in all its six seats – Sri Aman, Lubok Antu, Julau, Kanowit, Hulu Rajang and Selangau.

Thus far, SWP had announced their candidates for Julau, Hulu Rajang and Lubok Antu.

For Julau, they would be fielding Meluan assemblyman Wong Judat, Pelagus assemblyman George Lagong in Hulu Rajang and SWP president Larry Sng in Lubok Antu.
