BUTTERWORTH: A Form 3 student of a school in Seberang Jaya has denied any involvement in a bullying incident at its premises on March 4.
The boy, who lodged a police report upon discovering that his photograph was posted on a social website, indicating he was the main suspect, said he was scared and traumatised to leave home.
“I was bewildered when my mother asked me if I was involved in a bullying incident at school.
“She told me my cousin had come by to inform that my photograph was put on a blog for bullying a student.
“I checked my mobile phone and was surprised to see many unknown numbers.
“I then checked my Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts which were full of comments and accusations from people I do not even know.
“It scares me,” he told reporters here yesterday.
The youngest of five siblings said he had temporarily deactivated his Facebook and Twitter accounts.
Malaysians were recently shocked by a 92-second video clip which featured a student repeatedly kicked and punched by another, clad in a grey t-shirt, before two others joined in.
The video clip went viral on Facebook and YouTube since April 9, and was also shared on the Royal Malaysia Police’s Facebook page, which confirmed the incident occurred at a school here last month.
Penang Education Department director Ahmad Tarimizi Kamaruddin said the three students involved in bullying the victim had been expelled from school on March 8. — Bernama
