KUCHING: Eyesight Optic is sponsoring Miss World Harvest Festival and Ironman World Harvest Festival for the ninth year as part of its efforts to create greater awareness on the importance of proper vision care.

They handed over their sponsorship for the Miss World Harvest Festival 2013 at Boulevard Shopping Mall on Saturday.

Other highlights of the evening were a fashion show put by Keringkam Jingga Bridal and cultural performances from Sarawak Cultural Village.

“Eyesight Optic is proud to sponsor the Miss World Harvest Festival to create awareness on the importance of proper vision care. We provide free eye test, free ultra-sonic wash, free adjustment and professional image advice to customers,” said Eyesight Optic supervisor Anson Kon.

Eyesight Optic also offers ocular health screening at selected outlets, he added.

The company was founded in 2006, with its first outlet at Sarawak Plaza. Today, it has 10 outlets in Kuching and Sibu.

“Eyesight Optic plans to have outlets all over Sarawak in order to offer customers the best professional eye-care services and a wide variety of eye wear.”

The finalists for the Miss World Harvest Festival 2013 this year are Claudia Panti, 20, Shafreezan Sazali, 19, Brenda Sue, 23, Rosalind Sajah, 25, Cammielye Oliver, 25, Nur Halina Muhamed, 23, Nightangle David, 25, Esther Unyana 23, Fillence Macaitlan, 23, Efazira Sabri, 18, Shaley Merie Wallen, 18, Noraini Sabu, 23, Cornellia Johnek, 22, Fiolla Redup, 21, Syafiqah Mohd Ahmadi, 20 and Nurfetin Afiqah Ariffin, 23.

This annual event is organised by Sarawak Cultural Village (SCV) as one of the programmes for the World Harvest Festival 2013. It is supported by the Ministry of Tourism Sarawak and Ministry of Tourism Malaysia.

The festival this year would be held at Sarawak Cultural Village from May 3 to 5, where other highlights includes the ‘The Fish Princess: A Highlander Love Story’ play adapted from a Kelabit legend; international cultural concert from Mayuzumi Foundation for Traditional Folk Dance, Japan with interactive workshop on dance and music; the Ironman World Harvest Festival final and Sarawak Kitchen Food Festival.

Tickets for the festival are RM60 each. Those who purchase them before April 19 will get it at half price.
