Selangor MB in straight fight for Pelabuhan Klang seat

KLANG: Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim who had opted not to defend his Ijok state seat, choosing instead to contest in the Pelabuhan Klang state constituency, will be facing BN candidate Datuk Nasarruddin M Zin in the 13th General Election on May 5.

Klang parliamentary constituency Returning Officer Ehsan Mukri confirmed both candidates’ nominations at Dewan Hamzah, Klang Municipal Council here yesterday.

In the Kota Alam Shah state constituency, Information, Communications and Culture deputy minister Datuk Maglin Dennis D’Cruz, who is also PPP senior vice president, is the BN candidate.

He is in a four-corner tussle with V Ganabatirau from the DAP and two Independents, L Pannerselvam and Loo Hok Chai, a DAP veteran.

The Pandamaran state constituency will also be a four-way contest involving BN candidate Datuk Ching Eu Boon, who is also Klang MCA Youth deputy chief, DAP’s Tan Kok Shyong, and Independents Hamzah Lamin and A Deligannu, also a DAP veteran. — Bernama
