SIBUTI: Nomination day for the Sibuti at Subis District Council went smoothly without any untoward incident.

As early as 6am, people from the surrounding area started to flock to the small town, creating a carnival-like atmosphere.

More than 2,000 BN supporters joined Bekenu assemblywoman Rosey Yunus and Lambir asssemblyman Ripin Lamat as well as members from various component parties in accompanying Sibuti incumbent Ahmad Lai Bujang from the Sibuti Service Centre to the nomination centre.

At another camp, some 300 supporters flying the party’s flags accompanied its candidate Robby @ Muhammad Zaid Tandang, Sibuti PAS’ youth chief.

Supporters from the BN and PAS gathered outside the nomination centre and an impromptu cheering took place between BN supporters in blue and PAS supporters in green, while they waited for the nomination papers to be sorted out.
