Asean Summit preparations in full swing in capital

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: With only two more days before the Asean Summit, several main roads in the capital have been decorated with banners and flags of the participating Asean member countries, Borneo Bulletin reported.

Preparations are in full swing along the road leading to the International Convention Centre and the new Prime Minister’s Office complex where the meetings will take place.

Banners can be seen erected along Jalan Berakas, Jalan Menteri Besar, Old Airport area, Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Highway, Tungku Link as well as the Muara-Tutong Highway. The roundabouts leading to the main venues are also bedecked with Mean country flags and landscaped with brightly coloured flowers and plants.

Brunei Darussalam is the chairman and host of this year’s Asean Summit and related summits. The Asean Summit will take place on April 24 and 25.
