Cigarette smuggling attempts foiled

BEBULOH: The Reserve Unit ‘C’ Company of the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) detained a 48-year-old man and a 15-year-old student following a foiled attempt to smuggle 20 cartons of Dunhill cigarettes at the vicinity of Kg Bebuloh, Borneo Bulletin reported.

Meanwhile in a separate seizure, the Reserve Unit ‘C’ Company located two huge boxes containing 100 cartons of Era Premium cigarettes, approximately SO metres away from where the arrests were made.

All the confiscated items have been brought to the Limau Manis Police Station for further investigation.

The cases will be transferred to the Royal Customs and Excise Department.

The RBPF urged the public to report any activities deemed suspicious and of illegal nature. The RBPF also advised members of the public to give full cooperation and information on such criminal activities through any police station or its hotline 993.
