Etiqa Insurance & Takaful eyes RM3 million in premium income during Unit Trust Week

KANGAR: Malayan Banking Bhd’s unit, Etiqa Insurance and Takaful, is targeting to rake in a premium income of RM3 million when it signs up between 3,500 and 4,000 policy holders during the on-going Malaysian Unit Trust Week.

The company is leveraging on the programme to promote both its Triple Lifestyle Protector Insurance Plan and the Prisma Takaful Plan in Kangar and the northern region.

“Both the plans will provide policyholders with protection benefits and cash returns every few years, with more education opportunities and savings.

“We see great potential in Perlis which has a population of 250,000 people,” said executive vice-president Mohd Sani Ayob.

He said Etiqa Insurance and Takaful was the current market leader in both products and would continue to retain its
position.

The week-long Malaysian Unit Trust Week is an annual event organsied by Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB).

The objective of the event is to educate the public on investment and encourage them to actively participate in the country’s unit trust industry.

“Besides, we have also set up six other booths in some places including Arau, Alor Star, Universiti Utara Malaysia and Universiti Malaysia Perlis to promote our products during the week-long campaign,” he told reporters here yesterday. — Bernama
