MIRI: Political parties have been directed to respect the time limit for ceramah during the campaign period, which is 11pm in rural areas and 12am in town areas.
Miri deputy police chief Supt Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said all political parties contesting in Miri and Sibuti were informed of the reuglation in a meeting held here.
“No incidents have been reported within the two days of campaigning so far,” he said in a news conference here today.
Jonathan said five ceramahs which were conducted in the two parliamentary constituencies went smoothly.
“For the coming ceramahs, political parties should maintain public order and party supporters should refrain from parking in front of people’s houses or obstruct traffic,” he added. –Bernama
