DAP’s talk at Wonderful Square a sell out

SIBU: Roads leading to Wonderful Square in Ulu Sg Merah Road where the DAP held its political talk Tuesday night were congested.

The jam at Ling Kai Cheng Road and Ulu Sg Merah Road lasted for hours. The venue of the talk itself was jam-packed by spectators, which the organiser estimated at 5,000.

DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng, the featured speaker for the night, dwelt on the huge changes for the betterment of the nation and its people if Pakatan Rakyat which comprised DAP, PAS and PKR make it to Putra Jaya.

He said the Pan Borneo Highway from Kudat in Sabah to Kuching would be realised; poverty eradication within five years; and oil royalty increase from 5 to 20 per cent.

Chiding the BN-propagated ‘1Malaysia’ concept as meaningless, Lim said the PR was all for its ‘1Country, 1Price’ system.

“We cannot have one country with two prices. This is not fair to the people of Sarawak and Sabah. If the PR comes to power, we will make it 1Country, 1Price,” he said to the applause of his audience.

Lim also promised free WiFi in all public places.

“Don’t think that we cannot do it. The Penang Government has already done that and there is no reason we can’t do it here,” he said.

He claimed the BN government would never provide the public with free WiFi because it did not want them to access too much information in the Internet.
