Najib flying over for working visit

KUCHING: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Razak will arrive here tonight for a working visit, during which he will attend several functions to be held here as well as in Saratok and Lubok Antu.

Tomorrow the prime minister, accompanied by wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, will be flying to Saratok for a leader-meet-the-people session at Dataran Krian.

Saratok parliamentary constituency will witness a three-cornered fight involving SPDP president Tan Sri William Mawan Ikom of Barisan Nasional (BN), PKR state deputy chairman Ali Biju of Pakatan Rakyat (PR) and independent candidate retired civil servant Datuk Abg Rosli Abg Paleng.

Thereafter, the entourage will head down to Rumah Awing, Merindun in Lubok Antu to lend support to incumbent William Nyalau Badak (BN-PRS) who will be defending the Lubok Antu seat in a three-cornered fight against SWP Larry Sng Wei Shien and PKR Nicholas Bawin.

Najib will proceed to visit two places in Stampin parliamentary constituency; and make a trip to Kampung Semaba for a meet-the-people session before heading to SJK Chung Hua No.2 at Jalan Stutong here. The prime minister is scheduled to perform an earth-breaking ceremony for the school’s new block.

Defending Stampin seat is incumbent Datuk Yong Khoon Seng (BN-SUPP) who will be challenged by Julian Tan (DAP) and Lina Soo (STAR).

The premier and his entourage will then depart for Sibu to attend a similar event to take place at the front of Paramount Hotel before leaving for Kuala Lumpur.
