KUALA LUMPUR: PAS is committed to its hudud struggle despite its partner in Pakatan Rakyat (PR) DAP not aggreeable to it, said its secretary-general Datuk Mustafa Ali.

He said hudud (Islamic penal code) was PAS’ agenda and that the party would continue to champion it.

“In September 2011, Pakatan Rakyat had discussed hudud which PAS wanted to implement (if PR gained power at the federal level) but DAP did not agree,” he told a press conference at PAS’ headqaurters here yesterday.

Mustafa also said PAS agreed to let PKR contest the Kota Damansara state seat in the general election on May 5 following an overlap of candidates from the two partners on Nomination Day on April 20.

He said this decision was taken at a PR meeting Friday. — Bernama
