PASIR MAS: The Kelantan PAS government must ensure that the oil royalty demanded, must benefit the people and development, not used for political purposes, said former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
Dr Mahathir said the federal government must be careful when fulfilling claims for oil royalty because it involved the people’s money which must be used for the right purpose.
“They (PAS) must first outline how the oil royalty would be used. What we know, they (PAS) want to use the money for the party and not for the state government. We must be careful because it is the people’s money. Just like Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Nik Aziz has claimed that he was responsible for the people of Kelantan, we (BN) are also responsible for the people,” he said. — Bernama
