MARAN: Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin wants the Pahang Barisan Nasional (BN) to ensure absolute victory in the state for the coalition in the 13th general election (GE13) on May 5.

He said the aspiration and dream must be turned into reality as Pahang had always been a BN stronghold right from the start.

“Pahang is a BN stronghold, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has given the benchmark to Tok Nan (Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob) to achieve 100 per cent victory in Pahang.

“The responsibility and trust is borne by the menteri besar and we know that the task is most challenging and thus cannot be borne alone. On the other hand, there must be a transformation team,” he said in the programme 1Malaysia People’s Gathering, at the Dataran Maran, here yesterday which was attended by 5,000 people from around the Maran parliamentary constituency.

Pahang has 14 parliamentary and 42 state legislative assembly seats and in the 12th general election, Pahang won 12 parliamentary and 37 state assembly seats.

Besides Adnan, others present included the BN candidate for the Maran parliamentary seat, Datuk Ismail Abdul Muttalib, the BN candidates for the Luit state seat, Nurhidayah Mohamad Shahaimi, Kuala Sentul state seat, Datuk Shahaniza Shamsuddin, and Chenor state seat Mohamed Ariffin Ismail.

Muhyiddin said the government also pledged to build a Community College here if the BN achieved a big win in Maran on Sunday.

“We will approve the construction of the Community College here on condition that the BN is outstanding in Maran to provide proper life-long education to all the people.

“We are a good government, trustworthy, and deliver all the pledges and many more that we will implement.

“The prime minister is asking for a mandate of five more years for us to boost development for the people because the challenge before us is to move towards a developed nation status with high income,” he said.

In this context, he called on all the people to make the right choice on May 5 because their future and that of the nation depended on their votes.

“I fear if the people make the wrong choice, the opposition will gain power and that is why come the crucial day on Sunday, we urge all the 13 million people who will determine the fate of the nation for the next five years to make the right choice,” he said.

According to Muhyiddin, national peace and prosperity must be maintained under the existing government and a change in government was unnecessary because the ruling government was the best and had satisfied all the people. — Bernama #myvote13 #ge13
