SIBU: Nangka assemblyman Dr Annuar Rapaee yesterday called on the voters to help recover the lost ground for the past three years that Sibu is under the opposition.

He urged voters to give BN Sibu candidate Vincent Lau a chance to exercise his experience and expertise in parliament.

“The approachable and down-to-earth Vincent Lau has commanded the respect of Sibu folk through his involvement in community and social work.

“He inherits his family tradition and legacy of exemplary leadership quality in both social and economic fields. Therefore, it will be a pity and a waste of leadership resources if we don’t vote for him,” Dr Annuar said.

He stressed that the 13th General Election is not just about choosing an effective people’s representative but returning Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak as the prime minister.

Dr Annuar noted that Najib since helming the country’s leadership over the last four years, has proven himself to be worthy of support.

“For us in Sibu, this link between our constituency and the top leadership must be reestablished. Your vote is thus crucial to recover the lost ground,” he reiterated.

Dr Annuar said over the last two years, he had tried his level best to render his service to the public in Nangka though facing limited resources.

“I reckon I would be able to do much more if I have an experienced colleague like Vincent Lau at the federal level to expedite the transformation process of our area and provide more effective service to the public.

“More importantly, with both people’s representatives at state and federal levels, there will be double funding for developments in our area,” Dr Annuar stressed.
