KUALA LUMPUR: Home decor exhibition, Homedec’13, aims to register business transaction growth of between 10 to 20 per cent over the RM40 million recorded last year.

The 11th edition of Homedec’13, will be held in two parts over four consecutive days each.

The first part of the event began on May 1 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, with the second to be held from October 24 to 27 at the same venue.

Homedec’13 had previously been also staged in Penang, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah and will be held in Johor Bahru from June 28 to 30.

Exhibition organiser and president of CIS Network Sdn Bhd, Vincent Lim said the target was achievable based on positive consumer spending.

“The event is expected to attract over 80,000 visitors due to the special discounts being offered by exhibitors who are also showcasing the latest technology and models in the market,” he told Bernama.

Lim said Homedec’13 would highlight players from the renovation, refurbishment and redecoration industry, giving them a platform to showcase their products as well as strengthen their brands.

He said CIS Network would continue to provide a platform for manufacturers, suppliers, agents, dealers and businesses in the industry to enable them to compete on the global front.

“We aim to continue to contribute to Malaysia’s home renovation industry and play a major role, not just via the exhibition, but also by partnering with accredited bodies like the Malaysian Institute of Architects (PAM) to realise industry-related events and also by presenting the Homedec awards,” he added.

Homedec’13 has attracted 360 exhibitors and 1,100 booths who will provide the latest trends, ideas, concepts and technology in the renovation, refurbishment and redecoration industry.

The booths are spread out over eight exhibition halls.
