Smooth preparation in Pitas

PITAS: The preparation for the polling day today started yesterday afternoon at most of the polling stations here.

The Election Commission (EC) officers began their work with a briefing session, followed by pasting of direction signs, arranging seats and tables and also installing the voting booths partitions.

One of the officers stationed at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Rosob, Janet Jubaida Idong said the election process is always exciting for her, especially when she is given the opportunity to be part of it.

“The other officers have been very cooperative even though we started a bit late. We are confident this preparation will be completed before midnight,” she said.

SK Rosob is the one of the voting station for the Kudat parliamentary constituency and Datuk Abdul Rahim Bakri, who is the candidate for the seat, is expected to cast his vote at 8 am today.

SK Pekan Pitas have also started their preparation yesterday afternoon after a briefing session.

Marianah Madnipa, one of the officers, said with all their experience in handling the election process they should be able to complete the preparation before 8 pm.
