KOTA KINABALU: A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run while crossing Jalan Sepanggar, near Taman Jaya Diri, here on Tuesday.
The victim, identified as Ibrahim Pilasang, 51, from Taman Jaya Diri, died at the scene after he was believed to be knocked down by a minibus.
It was said that the victim was on his way home around 7pm and the minibus was heading to Sepanggar from Indah Permai when the incident occurred.
City police chief ACP Jauteh Dikun said the case will be investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
He said the victim’s body has been taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for a post-mortem.
He urged eyewitnesses to come forward to assist police in their investigation.
