SEPANG: On the back of its successful operations to Kuching and Kota Kinabalu, Malindo Air, Malaysia’s only hybrid airline yesterday announced plans to expand its network by commencing flights to Sibu (June 11), Miri (June 14) and Tawau (June 26).

The introduction of the three new routes coincide with the imminent delivery of the KLIA-based carrier’s third and fourth aircraft.

Announcing the new destinations, CEO Chandran Rama Muthy said Malindo Air’s expansion into Miri, Sibu and Tawau offers guests wider travel options and a more comfortable travel experience onboard its state of the art Boeing 737-900ER aircraft.

“We are proud to introduce the hybrid model to a larger network and offer guests an opportunity to sample new travel experiences and wider travel options to business and leisure travel destinations in the markets we operate in,” he added.

Malindo Air operates the youngest and most state-of-the-art fleet in Malaysia and Asia and will continue to do so over the next few years as it receives more aircrafts to add to its fleet.

Sibu, Miri and Tawau becomes Malindo Air’s third, fourth and fifth gateway to East Malaysia and will offer guests more choice and better connectivity to more business and leisure destinations in East Malaysia from the airline’s hub at KLIA.

Malindo air is offering guests the opportunity to travel on economy class to its new destinations with all inclusive fares starting from RM98 to Miri, RM98 to Sibu and RM138 to Tawau.

Malindo Air is also offering all inclusive Business Class fares from RM499 to Miri, Sibu, Tawau, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu.

“We are committed to offer fares at affordable cost and are constantly looking for ways to expand our reach, improve our services, enhance our guests’ in-flight cabin experience and offer our guests a more diverse in-flight selection, without compromising quality,” said Chandran.

More than 100,000 guests have travelled onboard Malindo Air since it began its operation on March 22.

Malindo Air currently operates a fleet of two Boeing 737-900ER (extended range) aircraft in a two-class configuration of 12 seats in Business and 168 seats in Economy.
