TUTONG: In conjunction with its 53rd anniversary, the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD) yesterday organised “Seven Hills Challenge” at Sungai Basong Recreational Park. The event was hosted by the FRD Operational E Command of Tutong District, Borneo Bulletin reported.
Nine teams participated in the challenge.
The guest of honour was YB Awang Hj Ramli bin Hj Lahit, Legislative Council member who is also the Penghulu of Mukim Telisai. Also present were the representatives from the government departments in Tutong District as well as officers and staff of the FRD.
Among the objectives of the challenge were to enhance teamwork and leadership qualities of the participants as well as to improve their readiness in facing daily incidents such as fire outbreaks which require mental and physical fitness.
The event concluded with the presentation of prizes by the guest of honour to the winners. Operational F Command emerged as champion while Operational A and Operational E came in the second and third places respectively.
The FRD Director, Awang Yahya bin Hj Abd Rahman also presented souvenirs to supporting agencies as well as to the guest of honour.
