KUCHING: Grand Margherita Hotel and Riverside Majestic Hotel are offering a Gawai Celebration holiday package.

Assistant Minister of Tourism Datuk Talib Zulpilip, who is also Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) chairman, said there is a lot of ‘balik kampung’ movement during Gawai just like other major festivals.

“Thinking of the grandparents’ house in the kampung might not be able to accommodate the children and their spouses and grandchildren coming home from all places, we launch this hotel package for all to enjoy a joyous festival with comfortable stay,” he said during the launch yesterday.

The Gawai Celebration package, which is available from RM230 for two days and one night at both hotels includes complimentary breakfast for two adults and two children, and is available from May 31 to June 30.

“As it is Gawai and a school holiday, this package also includes complimentary passes to the Sarawak Cultural Village, complimentary movie passes and complimentary bowling games,” said Talib.

“Understanding the need to constantly stay in touch with all loved ones, this festive season, all guests staying at the Grand Margherita Hotel and the Riverside Majestic Hotel will enjoy free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. Now you can help indai and apai Skype with your cousins from all over the world.”

Meanwhile, Damai Beach Resort is also offering a three-day two-night room promotion at RM 270 nett inclusive of breakfast for two.
