MIRI: TC Motors (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd launched the Auman heavy duty trucks in Miri yesterday in the hope of garnering at least 20 per cent market share of the local heavy duty trucks segment.

The trucks are manufactured by Belqi Foto Motor Co Ltd of China, the world’s largest maker of commercial vehicles.

In Sarawak, TC Motors (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd is the Master Dealer for a wide range of Auman trucks and buses appointed by Angka Tan Motor Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Warisan TC Holding Berhad.

In February last year, Belkqi Foton and Daimler AG inked a joint-venture agreement that involved a total investment of about 6 billion yuan or USD886 million, with the objective of utilising Daimler’s world class technology, especially that of diesel engines to build Foton Auman heavy duty trucks.

The company also inked a joint-venture with Cummins Engine Co Ltd of USA in 2008.

Over the last three years, China-made heavy duty trucks have gradually gained acceptance in the local market, capturing about 25 per cent of the heavy duty trucks segment in 2011.

This is a clear indication of Auman heavy duty trucks’ potential in penetrating the market.

According to the press release, Auman heavy duty trucks can make inroad into the local market with greater acceptance based on Foto’s product quality, performance specifications, innovative design and competitive pricing.

TC Motors (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd provides good after-sales service through service centres across Sarawak offering quality servicing, repairs and genuine parts for Auman heavy duty trucks.

The company is committed to provide customers quality after-sales support to ensure operational efficiency and productivity.

The latest series of Auman heavy duty trucks making its debut in the country are the Auman Dump Truck 6×4 with a GVW of 21,000 kg, the Auman Concrete Mixer (GVW 21,000kg) and Auman Prime Movers 6×4 and 4×2 (GVW of 38,000 kg and 32,000 kg respectively).

The Auyman Dump Truck comes in Complete Knock-Down (CKD) form and is assembled locally, while the Concrete mixer and Prime Movers are imported in Complete Built-Up (CBU) Units.

The Dump Truck and Concrete Mixer Truck cater to the construction and infrastructure industry while the Prime Movers are suitable to serve the logistics and haulage sectors.

These robust heavy duty trucks, equipped with high performance turbocharged and intercooled engine of Euro 2 standard, offer optimal fuel efficiency and enable their owners to increase productivity and profitability.
