KUALA LUMPUR: Local artists and handicrafters can promote and sell their products at the ‘Arts for the World’ inaugural exhibition in the Kompleks Kraf, beginning yesterday.

The three-day exhibition is from 10am to 6pm.

Malaysian Handicraft director-general Mohd Kamil Mohd Ali said, the exhibition would also provide an opportunity to collectors of art and craft to buy directly from the producers.

He said 17 artists and nine handicrafters such as Ismail Baba, Fuad Bakar, Taufik Burahan and Lazim Ismail were participating in the exhibition.

“A charity auction will be held on the final day, involving 50 of the best collections ranging from RM10 (craftwork) and RM50 (artwork). The proceeds will be donated to selected orphanages,” he told reporters here.

He targeted 3,000 visitors to the exhibition. — Bernama
