SARIKEI: Two private clinics in town were broken into over the weekend.

The incident at a private clinic located along Jalan Masjid Lama was discovered by a worker who turned up for work on Saturday morning.

When he checked through the premises, he was relieved to find that everything including the medicines were untouched, the clinic owner said.

However, a float of RM100 was missing from the drawer, presumably taken by the intruders, he added.

The owner of another clinic located along Haji Karim Road lodged a police report after discovering that his premises had been broken into on Sunday morning.

In his report, the owner stated that his staff had found the pad locks on the front door broken when they turned up for work around 7.30am.

However, when police went to investigate they found nothing in the clinic had been disturbed or stolen.

It is believed that the intruders’ attempt could have been foiled by a passer-by who claimed to have seen two men acting suspiciously in the area early that morning.

According the passer-by, he noticed two men leaving the scene on a motorcycle when he rode passed the clinic.
