LAHAD DATU: A 48-year-old pedestrian was killed after he was knocked by a Proton Saga car at Km 3, Jalan Lahad Datu-Silam here yesterday.
District police chief Superintendent Shamsudin Mat said the victim was identified as Maseng Tusada, who died at the scene.
It was learnt that the Proton Saga was heading towards Lahad Datu town when the incident occurred about 12.15pm.
“Initial investigation found that the victim was crossing the road when he was knocked by the Proton Saga.
“The victim was thrown away and killed on the spot, while the Proton Saga driver suffered minor injuries,” he said.
Shamsudin added the victim’s body had been sent to Lahad Datu Hospital for post-mortem and the case would be investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act.
