KUCHING: Sarawak President Cup squad was held to a scoreless draw by PDRM in their match held at State Stadium, Petra Jaya yesterday.

The draw was the ninth for the Young Crocs who had played 30 matches so far and having won only five times. Currently under the tutelage of caretaker coach, Awang Jobli Awang Dugan the junior state side had lost 15 or half of their total matches played this year.

Their coach had lamented on the Young Crocs’ inability to maintain their focus and had squandered a lot of opportunities to score.

He however said the one point was still useful to the team which will be going to Shah Alam Stadium on June 18 to play against highly fancied Selangor next.

According to Awang, the homesters had dominated much of the game but they failed to convert their chances when it was needed the most. Despite their recent victory against ATM which was held just a few days prior to yesterday’s match, the Young Crocs had failed to use the home ground advantage to send the visitors home empty handed.

Even though the team fielded the best line included top scorer Eugene Thompson and Richard Sawing, the Young Crocs remained deadlocked with their opponents throughout the match and could not find the elusive goal.

“I am pleased that we managed to steal a point to the least to improve the situation…however, I think Sarawak should collect three points because we completely dominated the match especially in the second half, “said Awang.
