Floating book fair back in Kuching on July 12

KUCHING: MV Logos Hope will be open to the public at Sim Kheng Kong Port, Pending from July 12.

Members of the public can visit from 10am to 9.30pm from Wednesday through Saturday, between 1pm and 9.30pm on Sunday and 2pm and 9.30 pm on Monday and Tuesday.

Tickets cost RM1 per adult and it is free for children under 12. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

The book fair on board Logos Hope offers an expanded selection of over 5,000 books at affordable prices.

A wide range of subjects including science, sports, hobbies, cookery, the arts, medicine, dictionaries, languages and philosophy is available.

With children’s titles, academic texts, dictionaries, atlases and more, the book fair is something the whole family can enjoy.

Additionally, the rest of the Visitor Experience Deck is also open for the public to explore. From the Welcome Area, which introduces the new vessel through a short movie and interactive displays, to the International Café, which has ice cream, drinks and snacks for sale, there is sure to be something for everyone.

Logos Hope is operated by GBA Ships E.V., an international, charitable organisation registered in Germany.

In almost 40 years of service, the organisation has welcomed 40 million visitors up the gangways in over 160 countries and territories around the world.

The visit of Logos Hope is supported by its Gold sponsor DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd.

Since 1972, GBA ships have visited Kuching, Malaysia, five times, with the most recent visit in October 2011, welcoming over 114,000 visitors.

Now after two years, GBA Ship’s fourth vessel MV Logos Hope will return in July 2013.

This is the newest and largest vessel, carrying the world’s largest floating book fair and an international crew of 400 people.

This newer and larger ship features a greater space for visitors and more comfortable browsing in the air conditioned book fair and café area.
