KUCHING: A stolen Proton Waja reported missing
recently was recovered at a residential area near tHe Spring shopping mall yesterday after a botched getaway.
The car was found missing from Jalan Mendu on June 26 around 2pm.
A reliable source said the car theft happened during heavy rain.
She said it was believed that thieves might have driven the car away but ‘crashed’ it, judging from the broken wheel.
It was abandoned by the roadside after the apparent self-accident, the source claimed.
Police found the car following a public tip-off and are still investigating the theft.
