THE proposal on the establishment of the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) to investigate the opposition cyber troopers called the ‘Red Bean Army’ will be discussed in the Cabinet meeting on Friday.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim said he received a memorandum from 130 Malay Muslim NGOs yesterday who proposed that the government establish the RCI to investigate the cyber army.

The NGOs said the establishment of the RCI was because of the incitement spread by the portal as it can affect the unity and political stability in the country.

“We take serious view of this proposal in order to safeguard the harmony of the people and will try to find the mastermind behind the operation and financing of the “Read Bean Army.”

The issue of silver nitrate in the indelible ink in the 13th general election (GE13) will be explained in a press conference in the parliament lobby tomorrow.

Shahidan said generally, the silver nitrate used in the indelible ink used in GE13 is less than one per cent.

“We learn from the experience of the Ministry of Health in using silver nitrate for the treatment of skin diseases without causing harm to the patients.

“The rates are not harmful and in the region of 0.5 to 1 per cent. I will reply to the other questions tomorrow,” he told reporters in the parliament lobby. — Bernama
