KUCHING: Sarawak State Sports Council (MSNS) director, Francis Nyurang Ding said the date for post mortem on the state’s performance in Sukma XVI will be announced soon after the games.

“We had not fix the date yet but it will be held soon …of course we want to have it as soon as possible when it (games) is still fresh in our minds,” he told The Borneo Post recently.

“We will all go back on July 8 and on the next day there will be a Majlis Kesyukuran for all us…it is organised because by then it is already the Puasa month,” he said on the coming activity for the state Sukma contingent upon their return back home.

On the matters to be discussed in the coming post mortem, Francis said it will include the aspects of preparation by the individual sports associations as well as the communication issues which may affect them.

“We will talk about many things…our strengths and weaknesses and we will also include the preparation that had been made and the communication among us,” he said on the matters which will be brought up in the coming event.

Earlier on Tuesday, Sarawak’s chef-de-mission Affandi Keli had expressed satisfaction on the athletes’ performance in Kuala Lumpur even though there were a lot of new faces representing certain sports and games this year.

He was also not unduly worried about Sarawak not winning gold medals because there are still opportunities for state athletes to deliver them in the coming events.

And true enough, state’s gymnast Esmelda Arecia Geling won Sarawak’s two gold medals after she won the finals of the balance beam and vaulting events on the next day.
