Unity, peace spur growth in Sabah – Musa

KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Aman urged the people to continue to uphold the unity and peace enjoyed by the diverse races in Sabah as the driving force of continued prosperity and growth in the state.

In his address at a ceremony held in conjunction with the royal visit by the Kelantan Sultan, Sultan Muhammad V, Musa reiterated the ability of the diverse people in Sabah to live together in harmony and peace, making it the perfect example of the 1Malaysia concept.

“Despite the diverse composition of races, ethnicity, religions and cultural backgrounds of the people here, we continue to live in unity and peace, in line with the 1Malaysia concept introduced by the Prime Minister who has acknowledged Sabah as the best example of the 1Malaysia spirit,” said Musa.

He pointed out that Sabah also continues to enjoy development and progress in all aspects, including economic growth, socioeconomic improvement, political stability, foreign investment, all of which contributed to social prosperity.

He also stressed how the state government had not left out other important aspects of development in developing the infrastructures in the state, such as human capital development, education, smart financial management, civil service and sustainable environment management.

“The state government will continue to improve its efforts to improve the living standards of the people and drive the state’s development towards higher standards.

“All of these will be possible with the people’s support and the state government’s commitment,” he said.
