‘Unfair to say police largest group involved in corruption’

IT is unfair to continue making a notion that the police force is the largest group of enforcement personnel involved in corruption.

“It can be the Kuala Lumpur City Hall officers or it can be enforcement officers of (other) local authorities. This is because enforcement officers involve many people.

“Corruption can only be curbed if the person giving the bribe stops such practice,” Federal Terrorities Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor told reporters at the Parliament lobby here yesterday.

He was commenting on the effectiveness of the Global Corruption Barometer Transparency International 2013 by Transparency International Malaysia(TI-M) on Tuesday. — Bernama
