LABUAN: Two wooden houses were destroyed in a fire on Friday at Kampung Sungai Bangat.
A spokesperson for Labuan Fire and Rescue Department, Jason Bilin, said that they received a distress call on 3.13pm.
“Seven fire trucks and 34 personnel from all fire and rescue stations here reached the scene 13 minutes later.
“The fire was under control within 23 minutes. The two houses were gutted by fire as they were located close to each other, while we managed to save two nearby wooden houses,” he said, adding that the operation ended at 5.06pm.
No casualty or injury was reported and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
Bilin disclosed that they had difficulty reaching the scene as the road was bad and muddy.
