KUCHING: Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh’s faction is eager for the Registrar of Societies to announce its findings on the irregularities reported in the run-up to SUPP’s triennial delegates’ conference in 2011.
Bengoh assemblyman Dr Jerip Susil, who is in Wong’s faction, said the sooner ROS made known its decision the better it would be for everybody.
“We would really appreciate if the ROS could make known its decision soonest possible. This is because only with that (decision) can we decide on our next cause of action. Till then we cannot do anything,” said Dr Jerip when contacted yesterday.
The others in Wong’s faction are assemblymen Datuk Francis Harden Hollis (Simanggang), Datuk Lee Kim Shin (Senadin), Ranum Mina (Opar) and Dr Johnical Rayong (Engkilili).
ROS recently issued a show cause letter to SUPP, but the 30-day grace period was over about three weeks ago.
Attempts by The Borneo Post to reach ROS director-general Datuk Abdul Rahman for updates were futile.
When asked what they would do in the event the party was deregistered, the standard answer from Wong’s faction is “will cross the bridge when the time comes”.
But party leaders in the other camp, headed by party chief Tan Sri Peter Chin, do not believe the party would be deregistered even though the ROS show cause letter dated June 6, 2013, required the party to explain why it should not be deregistered after 14 branches were found to have committed irregularities before and during its TDC.
The 14 branches are Kuching, Pending, Padungan, Sri Aman, Sarikei, Bintangor, Repok, Sibu, Kanowit, Bintulu, Bekenu, Piasau, Julau and Song.
