Chinese chambers of commerce should unite – SUCCC

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah United Chinese Chambers Of Commerce (SUCCC) president Datuk Seri Panglima Gan Sau Wah urges the Chinese chambers of commerce in the State to put aside their differences and unite to serve SUCCC and the Chinese community.

Gan said unity can be achieved with a common goal and sincerity to serve and fight for the interests of the Chinese community.

He said that when meeting Tuaran Chinese Chamber of Commerce committee members led by its president, Tan Kim Beng, here on Monday.

Gan also called on Tuaran Chinese Chamber of Commerce committee members to support Tan.

He said disputes were unavoidable as SUCCC comprises of many Chinese chambers in the State, but he and Tan have always been good friends who will not be affected by disputes.

Meanwhile, Tan invited Gan to be the guest of honour of the chamber’s installation ceremony on August 3 at SJK(C) Chen Sin school hall.

Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Hajiji Haji Noor, Tuaran member of parliament Datuk Wilfred Madius Tangau, association leaders and government officers are also expected to attend the event.

Tan added that the school was raising funds for a four-storey multi-purpose building, which has received an allocation of RM500,000 from the Education Ministry.
