SEREMBAN: The Royal Malaysia Police is targeting to implement the ‘online tracking’ system by the end of September, said federal police director of the Crime Prevention Department, Datuk Wira Ayub Yaakob.

He said the system was now quite ready except for several loose ends that must be studied before it was fully implemented at the end of the year.

“The ‘tracking online’ system means that complainants can check the progress of the investigation carried out. The system may be developed where each complainant may be given a specific ‘password’ because the investigation is confidential and only the complainant should know.

“The pilot project has been implemented in Kuala Lumpur. Due to the effectiveness of the ‘tracking online’, we will implement it nationwide,” he told reporters after the ‘High Profile Policing’ programme with the community in Senawang, here yesterday.

Earlier, Ayub heard a briefing and held a dialogue on his new department at the State Contingent Police Headquarters, here. — Bernama
