LET THE GAME BEGIN: Chang kicks the ball to launch the soccer tournament for the CKP Trophy.
MIRI: Ten teams are in the fray for the Bintulu Lumber Development (BLD) inter-estate football tourney which kicked off at Riverstone Stadium at BLD 2 in Niah recently.
The event was held to promote healthy lifestyle among BLD workers by encouraging them to take up recreational sports. It is also aimed to create good rapport, goodwill, better understanding and team spirit among staff, executives and workers in the estates under BLD.
It is being held for the second consecutive year and is offering the Chuo Kuong Ping Challenge Trophy to the champion team.
The 10 teams from Sawai Complex which are taking part in the tournament are namely BLD1, BLD3, GM2, GM3 and Niamas in Group A and BLD2, BLD4, GM1, Lot 87A and Lot 87B in Group B.
The tournament, which was officially launched by deputy area general manager Chang Sen Fin, is expected to end in August.
