Burglars strike at Rela member’s house

KUCHING: A Rela member from Kampung Rampangi lost cash and electronic devices after waking up to discover his house had been broken into early yesterday.

The 29-year-old man found out about the incident around 3am when he was awakened by his mother, who told him that burglars had entered their house via the kitchen door.

Upon checking, he found out that his wallet containing RM700 had been stolen along with three mobile phones.

His wife meanwhile, had a Samsung tablet stolen while his mother lost some RM300 in cash.

A police report has been lodged and the case is under investigation.

Separately, a housewife from Taman Samarindah in Kota Samarahan had her gold necklace snatched at the wet market in Kota Sentosa on Thursday.

The 37-year-old was walking towards her car together with her husband when a lone male motorcyclist snatched her necklace as he sped past her from behind.

Her husband, who was able to record the model and licence plate of the thief’s motorcycle, later forwarded the information to police for further investigation.
